Concert series in Merano, South-Tyrol

Since 2018 we have been carried out a 2-day concert series in Merano, South-Tyrol, every year. Mostly in summertime we offer young accordionists and ensembles with accordion the opportunity to perform and we like to provide a platform for their own presentation within our network.

Brunnenburg at Dorf Tyrol

In 2018 our first concert tour to Merano / South Tyrol took place in order to collect further donations for FIAE and the planned projects. The founding members Katharina Büeler, Peter Klotz and Nadine Bösing insisted on entering the stage themselves at this first concert series and organized a wonderful concert evening as soloists as well as in a trio.

In 2019 we offered the ensemble of the Hohner Conservatory “44ART” a concert opportunity, which the 4 young talents mastered with flying colors. Martin Gföller and Manuela Glock, students from Andreas Nebl’s accordion class, could also be heard with solo contributions.

In 2021 we continued our Merano concert series with new highlights after an involuntary break in 2020.
The musicians: Stefan Krimbacher, Alisa Winterholler and Lukas Proske.

It was a great pleasure to be guests at the Brunnenburg again in 2022. This year with terrific performances by Sophie Herzog and Piotr Motyka.

In 2019 we presented a varied concert evening with an ensemble from the Tyrolean Chamber Orchestra InnStrumenti and Vanja Cirkovic. It was a terrific evening and the first joint project. We look forward to more projects like this in the future!

After the involuntary break in 2020 it was possible again in 2021 to celebrate an extraordinary evening of music at Palais Mamming, including the invitation to a JAZZ LOUNGE experience. Solo musicians: Stefan Krimbacher, Alisa Winterholler and in cooperation with the „Kammerorchester Innstrumenti Südtirol“ the Duo Günther Ploner (Violine) & Stefan Krimbacher (Accordion) and the Duo Almabic Margherita Berlanda (Accordion) & Nicolò Nigrelli (Cello).

Concert series Basel, Switzerland

In Switzerland, more precisely in the Basel area, concert series have been taking place in various locations since 2017. A small group of guests has already been formed here over the past few years and they always like to join our concerts.

2019 Church concert mit 44ART

The young accordion quartet „44ART“ presented themselves for the first time at a church concert in Pfeffingen. Whether as a quartet or a soloist, all four accordionists (Jessica Winterholler, Alisa Winterholler, Michael Ziegler and Stefan Krimbacher) insisted on creating a fantastic program.

2017 Thank-you-concerts with Vanja Cirkovic und Sophie Herzog

Many of the donations collected for Vanja Cirkovic’s guarantee came from the Basel area. As a little thank you, Vanja played two wonderful concert evenings together with Sophie Herzog, also a student of Andreas Nebl’s accordion class. The first evening took place in the “Fireplace-Room of the Parish Office for Church and Economy” in Basel for invited guests and our supporters. The next evening, both played again in the Catholic Church of Pfeffingen for the public and presented the audience a varied program from Haydn to Gubaidulina.

Sarajevo Project

The story of FIAE started in 2016 with the support of the Serbian accordionist Vanja Cirkovic, who is now considered an exceptional talent, with a study place at the Hohner Conservatory in Trossingen. In 2019 she presented herself to the public at her final concert. Almost one year after starting her studies at the class of Andreas Nebl we had a little interview with her that we would like to share here.

Vanja, since March 2017 you have been a student at the Hohner-Konservatorium, class of Andreas Nebl. Was Germany recommended to you, or was there a special reason why you came?
When I finished my master studies, I wanted to continue with my education. I thought about going to Spain, Slovenia or Germany and I had a conversation with my professor, Zoran Rakic about the best solution for me. He suggested Andreas Nebl and Trossingen.
You are from Serbia, a non-member of the EU. What difficulties did you have to overcome before you could start your studies?
My first and biggest obstacle was the amount of 8.600 Euros that was supposed to be on a blocked account to get my visa. My family and I were not able to collect such a sum of money and I already gave up the chance to study in Germany. But thanks to the wonderful people from the FIAE organization that made the money available so I got my visa and started my studies in Trossingen.
How did you get in contact with FIAE for this support? Had there been any requirements?
Andreas Nebl told me about this organization. Together with his students, he is a member of FIAE. It was necessary to send my biography and some photos.
As FIAE supported you to start in the class of Andreas Nebl, could you tell us something about your experiences?
How was the cooperation with the FIAE-team?

When you are in a foreign country and you do not know the language it really seems to be difficult. But I was not alone. Wonderful people, heartwarming and companionable from FIAE were always around to take care of me and to support me. I am very grateful that I was lucky enough to get to know them and that I still have them as my friends.
FIAE is a very young foundation. Would you recommend it to other students, that have the same ambitions like you?
Would you like to give them an advice?

Of course I would recommend FIAE! I have some colleagues that would also like to study here in Germany but they have the same problems like I had. So I am more than happy that I can tell them that there is an organization helping und supporting young and talented musicians!
What do you enjoy most about your studies?
I enjoy in playing, performing in front of people. I enjoy to make someone feel the same emotion like I have during my play. I am learning new stuff and improving on myself every day. That is what I enjoy the most.
Why the accordion – what meaning does this instrument have for you?
I can say that I accidentally started playing the accordion, so she kind of choose me. But now I choose her every day.
Are there any planned projects for 2018 or the future? Have you thought about what you would like to do once you have finished your studies?
I’d like to work hard and we’ll see where life will send me. I have some goals that I want to achieve and if I do so, I will be content. For now, I am preparing some competitions and concerts so I am focused on that.

We wish Vanja all the best for her studies and her future!
Thanks a lot for this interview!
